Why This Blog Exists

In my life, I have been predisposed to the position that my belief is controlled/governed by the church building or the place you choose to worship.  It is not until recently, as I have been studying the bible more rigorously, that I have started to reshape my understanding of this concept.  The church building, or the weekly assembling of the saints, is a place to go where you can be encouraged and built up, not defined.  I will agree that thoughts are developed/molded for young children, or young Christians based on where they worship.  So, if a congregation is teaching obvious error when tested by scripture, then young Christians or children will begin to think similarly as they grow.  But, the church building nor the members of the building I attend will be what is going to save me.  It is my choice to be saved, it is my choice to be righteous or unrighteous and it was my choice to obey God and be baptized.  It’s a choice and it’s one we all have to make.  On the last day of his life, Joshua, in Joshua 24:15, gave instruction to choose.  Service to the Lord is personal.  Everyone serves in different ways, but each in his own way.  Faith is personal, as Matthew 9:27-31 suggests you’ll receive according to your faith.  Salvation is personal as Philippians 2:12 instructs to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.

I hope to accomplish three things by continuing to develop this blog:

  1. Serve the lord by spreading the gospel and trying to develop spiritual growth within my circle of influence.
  2. Build my own faith by studying and learning more about our God and Christ.
  3. Work out my own salvation by taking issues that are present in my own life and study to be ready in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke and exhort with patience and doctrine.

Two Roads Link

Life is tough, it can be hard, and a times seem unbearable. I have found in my experience it helpful to try and find the beauty in even the most mundane things of life. In that moment, where I can see beauty in bumper to bumper traffic, leaving the office after a 10 hour day, or even pouring down rain; my perspective and outlook on life really begins to change.

I believe that a picture can tell a story, and with the moments I try and capture, I also try and find the right words to convey that message. The hope with this blog, is to share some of that perspective with all of you.  Perspective, as in life often gives us two roads to choose from. Finding beauty in the hard times, keeping your faith, and staying positive will be the road less traveled more times than not, For me, choosing that one has made all the difference in the world, hope it will for you too 😉
